Frequently asked questions #

If you confirm the transaction using your smartphone and a payment app (such as Apple Pay or Samsung Pay), you will see the amount of the authorization request sent to your bank displayed in the app. This authorization request (for €7.00, or another amount depending on the payment network—NICKEL, VISA, MASTERCARD, or CB) is simply a hold placed on your account.

Depending on the number of trips you’ve taken, the transaction is finalized with the correct amount within 2 to 12 business days (depending on the bank).

Travel with others using the same credit card—up to 5 passengers. Hold your contactless credit card—or any other **connected** device—up to the ticket validator once per person, waiting a few seconds between each swipe. This process must be repeated at each transfer for each passenger.

I purchased a ticket by validating with my credit card. How do I find my purchase receipt?

To obtain a payment receipt or your travel history, visit this website.

1.Enter your card information
2.Select the date of your last trip
3.Submit and continue

Please note: this service is only available to passengers who validate their tickets with a physical credit card. Receipts and trip histories are not available for passengers who validate their tickets using other devices (smartphones, smartwatches, etc.).

If the ticket validator rejects your transaction, it may be due to one of several reasons:

Your credit card’s spending limit has been reached
The maximum number of authorized contactless payments has been reached
The credit card payment service is unavailable.

In this case, please purchase another ticket (rechargeable tickets are available at the MAT ticket counter in the station, at retail locations, or on the bus from the driver—cash only).

If you notice a discrepancy between the amount debited from your bank account and the number of trips taken, please contact our MAT customer service.

If you are asked to show your ID, simply present your bank card to the officer; it must have been validated within the past hour and a half.

You can also use your NFC-enabled smartphone or smartwatch to validate your ticket via the Apple Pay and Samsung Pay apps.

To do so, hold your smartphone or smartwatch against the ticket validator until you hear a green beep.
